Conway, being a [college] town, has many establishments that offer all sorts of pizzas. Pizza is one of the few things available for delivery in Conway. Pizza is an iconically delivered item, and tipping the person delivering the pizza is common. The Tip the Pizza Guy Website has guides on how to tip, and also how to place an order to make sure you get what you want, how to make sure the delivery person can find the house and more.

Most of the pizza establishment pages have an accompanying photo of a typical large pepperoni pizza.

Listed here are the prices for a pizza with no extra toppings that is not on sale, alongside its diameter in inches.

The table is greatly confounded, of course, by the uneven price of toppings and the massive amounts of special deals available. Listed here are known deals that don't require a coupon, although they may require you to be knowledgeable of the deal before going into the store, as pizza places know that if you walked in sans coupon and knowledge of a discount you're probably willing to pay more. If you don't mind being sleazy to save a buck, sometimes you can get a reduced price by simply flirting with the clerk and asking what deals they have that aren't listed on the menu.

A graph of price per square inch would seem appropriate from the table above, however not all pizzas are made the same. Crust radius, in particular, tends to confound the real size of a pizza, so below is a table showing the number of Functional Square Inches (FSI) of a Pizza. The FSI reflects the area containing toppings, and can therefore reveal how much certain places rip people off by having a ridiculous amount of crust. FSI = 3.14159 * (radius - crust length)*(radius - crust length)

Making pizza can be a cinch or it can be a fun, all-day cooking project depending how much time you want to put on it.

You can use a pizza stone to cook pizza, but it isn't required. For a cheaper alternative to a pizza stone, get a large, unglazed flooring tile (ceramic is better than composite, since composite will expand and contract differently and break quicker). They're available at Lowe's for around $5. You can also just pre-cook the dough right on the oven rack—about 8-10 minutes at 375-400 degrees will give you a nice crust, shorter if you roll it out really thin. Pull it out, add the sauce, cheese, and toppings, and toss it back in until they're done.

Most pizzerias offer red and white sauces; many offer a wide variety of others.

There aren't that many things that aren't good on pizza. You can get really creative and get some fantastic results. Be sure to pre-cook any uncooked meats.

Collier Hardware is not only a downtown hardware store, it is a piece of Chico history. The store has been a part of Chico life since 1935, and has been voted "Best Hardware Store" in the Chico News & Review's Best of Chico Awards several times. The building itself was built in 1875. It was at one time the location of a Masonic Lodge.

They are known for having everything. From a certain sized nail or washer for your home project to an authentic Danish Aebelskiver pan, it is shocking what you can find within their walls. Just before you have given up on finding something in Chico, first try Collier's. They even have an entire room dedicated to outdoor cooking.

If you buy something at Collier Hardware and it is a gift, be sure to ask about having them gift wrap it for you. They offer this service for free, which can be quite handy for those who are not skilled with wrapping paper. They have several patterns of paper, one of which will be appropriate for the gift and person you are buying it for. An interesting fact about Collier Hardware's building: the upstairs windows facing Broadway are fake. There are no upstairs windows there, only paintings of windows. If you look carefully, there is a cat painted to look as though it is sitting on the window ledge, and another window has a pair of eyes peeking out over the street.

The Historic Building, that houses Collier Hardware was, before renovation, in a style similar to that of Old Sacramento. This particular building has a similar layout to a historic building in Cuba. The style closely resembles the early architecture of California, with origins in Andalusia, Spain.

Toad Suck Daze is an annual free-admission festival in May. The festival is named for the Toad Suck historic ferry crossing on the Arkansas River just west of the city. Festival proceeds are dedicated to funding academic scholarships for students at local Central Baptist College (CBC), Hendrix College, the University of Central Arkansas(UCA), and the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Since 1982 the festival has raised $532,000 for such scholarships. The festival has also raised $200,000 in endowment funds for CBC, Hendrix, and UCA.

Toad Suck festival-goers enjoy live events - including music and dance performances - carnival rides, and food vendors. Favorite festival foods include frozen bananas dipped in chocolate and served on sticks, chicken-fried bacon, and tamales. One hundred and seventy vendors populate the annual Toad Market during the festival. The local Toad Store is also open during the festival.

The first Toad Suck Daze was held at the Toad Suck Park on the Arkansas River in 1982, but when the river flooded the park in 1990 the event was moved to downtown Conway. The festival has remained in the downtown district in subsequent years. Regularly scheduled events include the Toad Suck Daze Softball Tournament at the Don Owens Sports Complex, the Toad Suck Daze Golf Tournament at Centennial Valley Country Club, Stuck on a Truck, the Toad Suck SuperStar competition, Toad Suck Car Show, Toad Dome and Courthouse Stage performances, and the annual Toad Races.

The event was named Festival of the Year in 2008. More than 160,000 visitors attended Toad Suck Daze in 2008.

Don't panic! We never want guidelines to interfere with your ability or motivation for expressing yourself and getting your ideas out. Your ideas are the most important thing. This is a style guide, which means it's just the style we try to aim for to make sure we're all on the same page when it comes to conventions.

The Conway Wiki is a community wiki, and as such it should represent the voices of the community. Check out how other articles are written, see what you like, and write to your heart's content.

Including humor is definitely fine, and so is including small details. Know something weird about a place? Include it!

The Conway Wiki is not Wikipedia, and we don't encourage revising to a neutral point of view (using NPoV to create new articles is fine). At the same time, we don't want a slew of f-bombs or savage attacks on certain groups of people, so do try to be civil.

Conway Wiki article layouts should be typified by the Templates. Article formatting should match the layout of the templates whenever possible. New templates should be created for categories of articles which the existing templates don't fit well, and existing templates should be modified to match the most elegantly formatted articles in their respective categories.

Opinions may vary about what this is, but in general pages should have the most intuitive name possible. Example: the page with information about restaurants should be called Restaurants. Note: It shouldn't be called "Conway Restaurants" because this is the Conway wiki—we can take for granted that the restaurants are in Conway.

Pages for specific things should use the correct, full name (unless it's a local geographic region with a common name like Central Arkansas), and excluding the initial definite article "the" (unless it's a proper name that requires the article to be coherent, such as The Old Gin). Example: The UCA page is University of Central Arkansas (and not "The University of Central Arkansas"). Common synonyms should be given pages with a redirect using the redirect button on the "Edit" page. Example: UCA redirects to University of Central Arkansas.

Capitalization: The first letter of each word in the page name should always be capitalized unless it is an article, a preposition, or a form of the verb "to be". In these cases it should be capitalized if it is the first word, or if the official name always capitalizes that word by convention. Examples: "Is Pickles Gap the Dillest?" and "Pickles Gap is the Dillest of the Dills". Acronyms should have each component letter capitalized, unless it is conventional to do otherwise. Examples: UCA is all caps, but "Scuba" is not.

Here's what we have so far:

The site needn't be neutral point of view. This is community run, so the perspective is generally just what we decide it should be - so everyone participate!

What we are going for is the cumulative point of view of the Conway community. Try to provide point and counterpoint (or the nonbinary equivalent) when opinions are expressed, especially if those opinions represent a real divide in the community and not just the lunatic ravings of a depraved individual.

Facts are certainly encouraged. This is the Conway Wiki—facts about Conway belong here, even the little and silly ones!

Humor is encouraged, but try not to be disparaging or use excessive profanity.

Feel we're missing something or could have said that better? Use this comments section or the talk page to suggest changes, or if it's something unlikely to cause controversy, just edit it yourself - we can always change it back, if there are problems.

See also: Wiki Ethics, Conway Wiki Guide and Good Style.

Try to avoid segmenting and replicating information across pages. Putting the same information on a bunch of pages makes keeping information updated extremely difficult and also makes searching very hard. Keep the information about a particular topic on the page devoted to that topic, for the most part. General pages that collect information from specific pages are terrific and useful, but keep in mind that you want to minimize replication of things that change frequently otherwise it will become harder, down the road, to keep it all updated.

Thoughts? I'm not sure I'm phrasing this very concisely or clearly, so I'd appreciate any help.. Maybe it would be best to just say "When editing, keep in mind the years to come and what will need to be updated and how difficult that may be."? —PhilipNeustrom

(from AlphaDog) How about:

It is good practice to cite any sources you use, particularly if you are using a direct quote or facts/figures from a publication or website. Note that Conway Wiki does not follow the strict Verifiability and No Original Research policies of Wikipedia, especially the latter, since the local nature of the subject allows for much primary research.

If a reference is applicable to a specific passage, use a footnote after the end of the sentence or paragraph. e.g.

Chief Jim Hyde resigned in June 2006. [[Footnote(Keene, Lauren. ''Hyde resigns as chief.'' ["The Conway Post"]. 2014-07-14.)]]

If a reference is applicable to large parts of the page, cite it at the end in a "References" or "Sources" section. The format of the citation is not important but should at least contain the title, author and date of publication for both printed material and online resources. Linking to the URL via the title is preferred, but do not just cite the URL, as it could change. Giving the author, title and publication (even for online articles) gives later editors and readers a chance to find the article via internet or site search engines.

Note that another way to reference material is via interwiki links. Material that is removed from the target can be retrieved by looking up the history of the citation and then the history of the target article. As a result, a simple link can be made.

Bad content happens. And it can (and should) be removed. When you see a comment or bit of content that has no merit (say, an outrageous, fabricated story or a racist attack), feel free to remove it. Just make sure you leave a little note explaining why in the edit comment bar at the bottom of the edit screen.

Bear in mind, there are a wide variety of opinions here on the wiki. It's possible someone will disagree that content is bad. Or maybe you just feel uncertain about removing content without getting a second opinion. Either way, it's fine. The steps in the next section should help.

Disagreements periodically come up over content on a page. There are three basic steps you should take, as needed. Most of the time, Step 1 will be all you really need.

Step 1: Communicate. Explain the problem and your desired outcome. Oftentimes, this is enough to solve the issue. For most issues, it's easy to come up with a solution or compromise. If you're a business owner or employee, you have a personal and financial interest in the page. That means that people who see you removing or changing content may jump to the conclusion that you're "whitewashing" or trying to cover something up. To keep that from happening, it's important to explain why you want the content gone. The fact that it's negative or upsetting generally won't be enough by itself—remember, the wiki tries to represent many different (and often conflicting) viewpoints.

A talk page is a good place place to do this. Click here for instructions on how to create one!

Step 2: Relax. Sometimes these things take a bit of time. Obviously bogus, racist, etc. content will just get deleted, but if there's a borderline case there may be different opinions on how to deal with it. It may take a day or two. Often other editors will want to do a little outreach, asking the person who added the problematic content to clarify, elaborate, or rewrite something to avoid the problem. They may have questions for you, as well. If it's something that could be seriously damaging to a person or a business, you can move the content (or ask someone else to move it, people will be happy to help out) to a talk page. It'll then be out of the way until the issue is resolved.

Step 3: Resolution. Hopefully the conflict can be resolved easily through a compromise, clarification, rewrite, or deletion. Unfortunately, that's not always possible. When it comes down to a question of "keep it or leave it" and people can't agree, it's ultimately going to come down to a community decision. There's no set standard. Things get handled on a case-by-case basis, with everyone involved trying to come to the best resolution they can. Once a decision is made—often by a poll or vote—both sides need to abide by it. If that means you're stuck with something nasty on the page about your business, do what you can to handle it constructively. Feel free to ask for help from your fellow editors. A lot of folks have seen many of these situations and may be able to give you some advice on damage control.

Remember: every editor on here is a volunteer who gives their time and energy because they want to improve the Wiki as a resource for Conway. The Wiki isn't anti-business, but it is pro-consumer. Everyone on here means well and is trying to achieve the best result for the community.

Using your Real Name is important to establishing identity in the Conway Wiki community. First, and foremost, it helps with instant credibility. However, using your real name alone doesn't give one credibility, you must then make valuable contributions rather than just talk trash.

Fundamentally, the question is one of community. Would you introduce yourself to your next door neighbor with a fake name? Probably not... and the people on the wiki are your neighbors.

Would you show up to a City Council meeting wearing a ski mask?

Remember, you may want to consider that this is an online community, and not much at all the same as heading out to the Farmer's Market. One solution to this problem is to never do anything (including here) that you wouldn't want associated with yourself. Be warned any of your comments (be they positive or negative) may be remembered by local businesses and restaurants, and anyone around the world with internet access (note: contextually more than 'next door neighbor') can read or find out about them at any time. Putting material on the wiki should be considered an act of publishing, in a sense.

Also note that as of January 1, 2011, California has imposed new civil and criminal penalties for impersonating someone online. It is a criminal act to impersonate another online without their consent "for purposes of harming, intimidating, threatening, or defrauding" anyone—not just the person being impersonated. Doing so is punishable by a $1,000 fine and up to a year in jail. You can also be sued for any harm you cause in the course of the impersonation. In short, make sure the identity you establish here is your own.

For community wikis it is much more important to use your real name. The whole point of a community wiki is to strengthen the community that it serves. If members of that community choose a name like "SmarterThanYou" or "Bicyclist" to use while editing it can lead to situations where other editors as well as readers of the wiki are left with a sense of suspicion about the real identity of the masked editor. The anonymous editor then is casting suspicion on many innocent members of their own community and causing their friends and neighbors to suspect each other of being "SmarterThanYou". This is particularly true if "Bicyclist" starts publishing controversial opinions about eliminating all cars in town. Suddenly this casts everyone in town who rides a bike under a cloud of suspicion that they are pushing a radical agenda, but aren't willing to stand behind their opinions with their real identity. It just isn't fair to the other editors who do stand behind their words; it damages the web of trust.

Editing under the name of your business goes against some of the goals on the wiki and it limits how you can participate. The use of a business name as an account name may give the impression of an official endorsement or attack if you comment on another business. Doing so with your real name lessens the potential for your comment to be viewed in this way.

An alternative is to use a slight modification of your RealName (e.g., RName, RealN, RaelName, etc.) and indicating so on your user page. That way, you establish instant credibility, and can always remove the link to your RealName after you've confirmed your credibility through your awesome edits. This option is good for people looking to evade Google once they leave Conway. (The revision archives are off-limits to search engine robots/spiders that behave properly, which is to say, all the ones significant enough for you to care about.) The point is accountability: establishing a reputation on the wiki. Of course, you might wind up making friends who wind up only knowing you by the name you use, so be aware it may well become your new nickname in some circles.

Please remember to use your RealName and not your Real Name, which is trademarked by Amazon.com.

It is okay to use a pseudonym if you are known widely by that name.

Other users who choose to use a pseudonym to remain anonymous manage to establish their credibility through making a history of providing many valuable contributions to the wiki. (For example, by creating and editing pages on a Conway related subject that the site is currently lacking.) However, using a pseudonym only grants one a certain degree of privacy, because the IP Addresses of all editors are logged and public.

Many people have created fake or dubious PseudoNyms just to troll or trash talk a single restaurant, business, or individual. This type of cowardly behavior is not constructive and is unfair to the recipient of the complaint. Wiki edits should be fair enough that you'd be willing to say them to someone face to face. That's true whether or not you use your RealName, but it's certainly easier to be unfair when you hide behind a pseudonym.

"The Internet is like alcohol in some sense. It accentuates what you would do anyway. If you want to be a loner, you can be more alone. If you want to connect, it makes it easier to connect."

This isn't about the 'bottom', but I think they should open up the canal to canoes, kayaks and maybe some paddle boats several times a year. Maybe on July 4 or other holidays. Add some rapids to "simulate the James" and give a kayakers a place to perform.

They usually hang around somewhere between Fisherman's Wharf and downtown. A few will wander out as far as the Castro, or the Haight-Ashbury and Alamo Square, as a limited excursion. They all see the tourist-oriented sights and gaze at Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge and think "wow, San Francisco is wonderful." They will share this experience with other people who have visited San Francisco. But they will have no idea what San Francisco is really about, and what it's really like for the people who live there.

This isn't to say that Fisherman's Wharf doesn't have really nice views of the Golden Gate, and a cool bakery, some nifty galleries, and things worth visiting as a tourist - but there's so much more to the city. This page is about those things - the things you won't see as an ordinary tourist, but as a visitor.

The Castro and the Haight-Ashbury are the neighborhoods that most tourists are likely to stumble across, but there are many others, and they're all wildly different. If you look around and see a lot of tourists, or diners named after the cable cars, you may not be in a "real" San Francisco neighborhood. By all means, feel free to have fun, but don't imagine this is what the locals do.

The Mission is where the hipsters hang out. It's also easy to get to: take BART to 16th and Mission or 24th and Mission. When you arrive, head west a block or two to Valencia Street. You are now in prime hipster territory. At the south end of this strip is Arizmendi Bakery, a worker-owned cooperative; they make good bread and serve pizza by the slice. At 21st Street is Ritual Coffee, serving some of the best espresso drinks in the world. 826 Valencia is a childrens' writing workshop and pirate supply shop. Mission Cheese will give you flights of artisan cheese to go with your wine. There are curiosity shops like Paxton Gate with cute plants and funny rodent skulls.

The Dogpatch is the fanciest part of town you've never been to. It's small, but pleasant. Get off at 22nd Street Caltrain or take the T Third trolley line to 22nd Street. (Also, parking is easy to find. Seriously.) Serpentine has a very delicious brunch. Cafe Piccino is cute and serves excellent coffee. Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous is some of the best ice cream around. Rickshaw Bagworks will make you a nice backpack, messenger bag, or iPad case.

Potrero Hill is harder to get to on public transit; take the 22 Fillmore, or drive. Parking is easy. (This is not a joke.) The 18th Street corridor has some nice restaurants. Umi has ridiculously good sushi. Goat Hill Pizza has a sourdough crust. Chez Papa is a snazzy little bistro.

Right near Dolores Park along 18th Street there are three stores: Tartine, a legendary bakery, Delfina, a legendary pizzeria/Italian restaurant, and Bi-Rite, a legendary supermarket. Seriously, a legendary supermarket. Check it out. They have a book. Across the street is the Bi-Rite Creamery. (Take the J-Church. Parking is hell.)

Hayes Valley has a variety of restaurants and high-end shopping. There's a nifty little project at the park with a Ritual Coffee location in a shipping container. The Hayes Valley Farm was set up on top of the rubble of a freeway onramp which collapsed after an earthquake. (Hayes Valley is a little difficult to get to. There is no parking.)

Cole Valley is a cute little neighborhood spot, and easy to get to on the N Judah. There's also some fun stuff nearby in the inner sunset at 9th and Irving.

West Portal has a nice main-street feel. It is easy to get to on the K Ingleside, M Ocean View, or L Taraval streetcar.

Glen Park can be reached via BART and is a cute neighborhood with a small-town feel. Glen Canyon Park is an unexpected canyon lined by eucalyptus, and feels like its own little world.

Noe Valley is a pleasant, sunny part of the city, with lots of pretty Victorian homes. It's popular with families that have kids. Along 24th street you will encounter local stores like Chocolate Covered and the 24th Street Cheese Company. (Walk or take the 48 Quintara from 24th and Mission BART).

The south side of Bernal Heights has a lovely little strip of local businesses. The view from the park at the top is amazing.

Normally you should stay out of the Bayshore, but you might make an exception for Flora Grubb Gardens. It's really cool, and has the atmosphere of San Francisco. Besides the neat plants and funky design (and the bicycles and old cars covered in succulents) they have a Ritual Coffee shop inside. (Parking is not too bad, or take the T Third).

If you're in the Haight-Ashbury, consider heading north across the panhandle and east, to check out Nopa.

San Franciscans frequently get around by bicycle, public transport, and just plain walking. As a visitor, you may not be prepared to bike around, but public transportation and walking are within your reach. If you just take a taxi or drive everywhere, you'll miss a lot of the good stuff - and it seldom gets cold enough to be uncomfortable.

Besides, finding a taxi (or parking spot) is usually pretty obnoxious.

You can stop by them if you'd really like, but all the big chain stores along Union Square and in the mall are pretty generic and can be found all over the world. Local businesses, though, cannot be found anywhere else, and contribute greatly to San Francisco's flavor. Look for the SF Made label for items which are manufactured locally.

San Francisco has a vibrant food truck scene. Look up something like The Creme Brulee Cart or Curry Up Now online and see where they're stopping, or attend Off The Grid so you can sample several food trucks in one place. If you wander around the Mission, you might also bump into the tamale lady.

A false publication, as in writing, print, signs,
or pictures, that damages a person's reputation.
b. The act of presenting such material to the public.

Basically, libel is saying something false and damaging about someone in print. Don't do this, it is illegal and you can be sued. Libel is not to be confused with Slander.

Libel consists of three parts. First, the writer must publish an untruth about another person in a manner that is meant to be believed by others. Second, the object of the author's words must be damaged in some fashion. Third, to distinguish libel from slander, the publication must be in some form of permanent impression. That medium may be anything from a ponderous tome to a photograph either in a book or embedded in a website to an e-mail. Even an angry response posted to a chat room may be the subject of a lawsuit. However, since the wiki can be changed and altered almost instantly the permanency of a statement is questionable.

Furthermore, the most important component of libel is that the published material is untrue or misleading in a manner that defames the subject. If the words are facts, they cannot be libelous. Misinformation that is essentially harmless is also not considered to be defamatory and therefore libelous.

Problems arise when the published material is misleading or incorrect and when it also defames the subject. Then three issues come into play. First, was the subject a private or a public figure? Second, did the author show a reckless disregard for the truth? And third, did the author maliciously intend to do harm to the subject (only if the subject is a public figure—see the movie The People vs Larry Flynt) or was reasonable care taken (if the subject is a private party).

Note that "libelous" is NOT synonymous with "negative" or "biased." Libel is not permitted here; bias and negativity are. However, pages that present only one side can be balanced with other views if you have an opposing viewpoint; and negative information may not always be incorrect or even inappropriate.

Many insults are not considered libelous. For detail, see California Court of Appeal: "Dumb Ass" is not a defamatory term.

For more information, see the very comprehensive wikipedia entry

Please don't threaten the Wiki with libel lawsuits if another editor posts information you think is libelous. It's silly, it's obnoxious, and it's not going to help you get what you want. Most people don't like being threatened. The wiki, like all "interactive computer service" providers, receives wide protection from the Communications Decency Act. Your beef is with the person who wrote the potentially libelous statement.

That said, libel is not welcome here. The Wiki isn't set up to be some kind of arbiter of the truth; all of the editors here do their best to make sure obviously bogus claims don't stay. If you believe content is libelous, you should raise the issue. People will try to come up with a reasonable resolution, but you need to remember that people who aren't personally involved are often left trying to guess about a he-said-she-said situation. If the discussion doesn't turn out the way you want it to, you may need to take the issue up off the wiki. If you feel it's necessary, the Legal Services page can help you find local legal advice and/or representation.

It's also a bad idea to threaten fellow editors with libel lawsuits to shut them up. California has a broad anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) statute, viewable here. If you file a libel lawsuit against someone without enough information to show "a probability that [you] will prevail," and the alleged libel is speech in a public forum (like the Wiki!) about a matter of public interest, the judge can throw out your case and require you to pay the defendant's legal costs. That ain't cheap. If you're only threatening, just bear in mind that if you're reading this, the person you're threatening probably is, too. If they really are speaking falsehoods, you're probably better off taking formal steps to let them know you're serious. If you're just trying to intimidate them, you should stop, because they probably know it as well as you.

In short, if you actually believe you're being defamed and the community doesn't have enough information to agree the offending statement needs to be taken down, you need to address it through the proper channels. Don't be a jerk and throw around legal threats on here.
