Snapshot

Cold Spring Harbor is a hamlet located on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. According to the region’s official website, “Cold Spring Harbor is a charming, historic seaside town dating back to the 1600’s.”  The place gets its name from the naturally cold freshwater springs that flow through the area. In its early days, Cold Springs was known primarily as a whaling village. Today, it’s famous for being home to the laboratory of Watson and Crick and a nationally ranked education system. Tourists can visit and enjoy an array of activity, including the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium and Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum. To top it all off, groups can finish the day by enjoying the sunset over the water that is so adored by photographers and residents alike.
