About

    Lake Mackintosh Park and Marina is a body of water located just outside the city of Burlington. It is 6 miles long, has a shoreline of 100 miles, and covers a total of over 1100 acres. There are fish in the lake, as Mackintosh has two tributaries, the Greater Alamance Creek and the Little Alamance Creek. It was developed in 1991 and has become the primary water reservoir for the city and the residents of Burlington. Because of this, there is no swimming/wading or personal watercraft allowed into the lake. In addition to the lake, there are park trails and picnic shelters on the land. 30 minutes before closing, all facilities and trails close and rentals are due back. To ensure that boat rentals are returned on time, no new boats are allowed on the water 90 minutes before closing.
