Deon Jackson, an African American from Ann Arbor's north side, is a born vocalist and through dedication and hard work combined with the guidance of music promoter Ollie McLaughlin, developed a clear, smooth delivery and hit the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the 1960s with "Love Makes the World Go Around." The song- and the artist- remain timeless and it is a frequently requested "oldie" and is found on many popular "Rock 'n Roll" memory CDs.
