Eric Gudz for Davis City Council

Eric Gudz is a candidate for Davis City Council. Prior to announcing their candidacy, Gudz served on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit organization Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP). They co-founded the UC Davis chapter of SSDP in 2013, and were instrumental in the implementation of a Good Samaritan Protocol (Aggies Act) in September 2017. Gudz was also appointed by the current City Council in 2017 to the Bicycling, Transportation, and Street Safety Commission (BTSSC). A member of the Unitrans Advisory Committee, Gudz has worked closely with ASUCD and the Unitrans bus service to address funding and service challenges since 2017. 

Gudz earned a Masters in Science in Transportation, Technology, and Policy from UC Davis in June 2016 and has been a proud Aggie ever since. Before coming to Davis in 2013, Gudz served as an an Army Lieutenant with the 101st Airborne Division and was deployed to combat operations in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan. Returning to the U.S. in 2011, Gudz took a leadership assignment in the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky before concluding their military service honorably as a Captain in 2013.
