Weasels are members of the weasel family, along with badgersmink, and river otters. The long-tailed weasel (Neogale frenata) is the only weasel found in Yolo County. It is a native species. Per the California Department of Fish and Game range maps, it lives in all parts of the county, including in Davis. It is more active in the daytime during the summer than during the winter.
