Dan Proctor once worked for the parks and recreation department. His position was eliminated the 1980's...but Dan  continued to do maintenance work on the trails as a volunteer. Dan Proctor trail along Chester Creek is named in his honor.   He's also a stalwart of The 3rd Street Bakery.

Mary Mathews founded,  and then shepherded the Entrepreneur Fund for 23 years. The Entrepreneur Fund supports people to build their businesses and create economic growth in northeastern Minnesota.
