The small town of Honomu, HI, is home to Akaka Falls, a 422 ft waterfall. It is located 3.6 miles southwest of Honomu, just off of Akaka Falls Road (Highway 220). The waterfall leads into Kolekole Stream, leading out into the ocean. The falls are located in the Akaka Falls State Park, which also boasts multiple rain forest hiking paths leading to Akaka Falls as well as its sister waterfall, Kahuna Falls. The Akaka Falls State Park is also home to an ecosystem of marine life, birds, and reptiles. 

Admissions

There is no charge for Hawaii residents. Non-residents are required to pay an entrance fee of $5 per car or $1 per pedestrian. Admission for commercial PUC vehicles varies. A full list of entrance fees can be found here

Facilities

In addition to walking paths, the Akaka Falls State Park also includes public bathrooms, parking facilities, drinking fountains, scenic viewpoints, and trash cans. Bicycles, animals, commercial activities, and alcohol are prohibited at the park.
