Used James Cline for a Mardell home remodel in 2017, he did a great job in considering and respecting the Mid-Century Modern style and was more affordable than working with Klopf. Cline was familiar with Mountain View permits, as he had worked in the area before.

We used Klopf to design our house remodel in the original Eichler style. We appreciated their aesthetic approach and full range of service offerings. They were great at listening to what we wanted and very open to feedback. Ultimately we were very happy with how the layout and overall direction turned out. They were instrumental in getting everything approved through the city and took care of a lot of those details. In the end we didn't keep them on through construction, as we found a contractor we were very happy with and didn't feel the need to have the architect involved the whole time.

Jonathan Feldman Architecture (FA), San Francisco, CA

I used this firm to plan a medium sized remodel project beginning in Dec 2008 but stopped using them in Dec 2010. I don't have a favorable summary of my experience with FA, but will generally advise others to find a local architect who considers the interests of their clients a top priority. I found FA untrustworthy and unable to deliver on their promises.
