Remodel, new construction

Bobby is a general contractor who has a great team of subcontractors. What we liked most about him is that he stayed on budget. Due to mistakes that were not ours, our remodel was close to a tear down (after we had designed the home staying within the layout of our original house). Bobby stayed true to his budget since the mistakes were not ours. I also liked that he is easily reachable and during the project responds to questions or concerns quickly (many times within minutes if he is not in a meeting). He also knows the city inspectors well and knows exactly what they want to see in order to pass each inspection. The major work was completed in about 6 months, with smaller items being finished after that. We thought all of his subcontractors were top notch- a number of them only work for him. We would go with him again.

remodeling, new construction, and home maintenance

Tom has done a ton of stuff to our house over the last 8 years, including a fairly complicated addition, bathroom remodel, backyard hardscape and tile work, bamboo flooring installation, window and door replacement, plus a lot of little things over the years. He's quiet, clean, unobtrusive, creative, detail-oriented, reliable, trustworthy, and very easy to deal with. He does a lot of the work himself, and when he has helpers or subs he selects them well and supervises them closely. I recommend him without reservation.

—Tom gave me a very competitive bid for a bathroom remodel. I decided to go with a design-build firm instead, but would definitely consider for another project. Jennifer on Thompson Ave.

From Reinhart Englemann, Benjamin: "Yes, we were extremely satisfied with our bathroom contractor. He was very responsive to our wishes and tastes, gave expert advise and finished the job in a timely manner as promised. We recommend him highly.

We have used Pat when we needed both our bathrooms remodeled and were highly satisfied with his work. He is a master craftsman and worked well with us in terms of what we wanted. Pat and his crew have also done work on the outside of our house when we had dry rot and needed wood replaced on the outside of our home. Without any reservation, I would strongly recommend him.

Dayne Hale, CA Licensed General Contractor #818405

(formerly a Monta Loma neighbor)

Dayne cares about the quality of his work. He has more than 20 years of experience. His rates are reasonable and fair and he is fully licensed. Remodeling, painting, carpentry, and clean up.

Dayne did an outstanding job on the remodel of our fireplace in 2008 (fall). Dayne acted as the general contractor, carpenter, and painter for the installation. He brought in an electrician, plumber, and cabinet maker. Everything came out fantastically well (...something you would see in a designer magazine). Dayne's attention to detail really shows. His perfectionism sometimes slowed things down (plus some conflicts with other jobs/personal issues), however, the delays were well worth getting exactly what we wanted (i.e. Dayne allowed us to make a number of last minute changes with complete professionalism). If you want work that you'll love...Dayne is an excellent choice. See additional postings for Dayne under Painters. Bob on Diablo (Mar2009).

I have known Dayne since 2006. Here is a list of the work, which he has done for me:

  • 11/2006 Paint the exterior of house, repair arbor in front of house

  • 11/2009 Paint facia board around roof (I had a new roof installed), repair cracks in interior walls, repair stucco

  • 08/2010 Remodel Master Bath

  • 08/2011 Remodel Guest Bath

Dayne was very professional and demonstrated exemplary dedication to all of these projects. I was very pleased with all of the results.
With respect to the bath remodel:
I replaced the tub with a stand-alone shower and I had tile installed on the floor, in a "diamond" pattern.. The tile work, in my view, was very complicated. Dayne exhibited a high degree of patience and was very meticulous.

I decided, at the last minute, to replace a window with glass blocks, which added more complexity to the project. Dayne was very flexible and didn't miss a beat.

I had a problem finding the right paint color. I wanted to match the walls with the color of the toilet-a light brown. Dayne was able to find he right tint to add to the paint. So now, the color matches perfectly!

At one point during the guest bath remodel, which turned out very well, Dayne noticed that the gate to one of the side yards was not closing properly. So he added some support to part of the fence and repositioned the
latch. now the gate closes perfectly. And he did not charge me.

These projects show the range of Dayne's expertise..carpenter, master painter, tile layer. So, if you want a home improvement project done the right way, at reasonable prices, I would highly recommend Dayne Hale.

Henry on Parker (Dec, 2011)

Incotec #679102

Phone - 650-461-0000

Owner - Dennis Lafayette

I had a garage to bedroom conversion with a carport created by Incotec. The owner's son was in charge of the job. The job took months longer than promised, even if you do not count the delay in getting the needed permits - and the job is still not done, though everything has been payed for on my end. The overall workmanship of what has been completed is very good and I'm pleased with it. The problem I had was the delays. Both the owner and his son live up near Sonora and drive here on Monday and home on Friday - so you pretty much only see them Tuesday through Thursday. Even though they have sub-contractors, the sub-contractors pretty much are only scheduled to come out Tuesday through Thursday - it was rare for me to see them on Monday or Friday. Frequently, I would have to call the owner's son to find out when and what days work would be done. The only reason the job was mostly finished when it was was because I phoned and emailed all the time and let them know that I wanted the job done before my twins arrived - which it was by one week which left us a few days to move a bunch of furntiure and set up the nursery. So, we are at the point where the carport still leaks, the rain downspout has not been fixed so that it does not flood the front porch, and there is some caulking that still needs to be done. I have contacted the owner and his son about this and I keep getting told it will be taken care of the following week. Well, it still has not been taken care of. So, as far as Incotec goes, the workmanship is great, the meeting of deadlines is so far off it is abominable, and the communication leaves a lot to be desired.

Joe has done our kitchen remodel, replaced outdated plumbing with copper throughout the house and installed a tankless water heater, remodeled a bathroom, and installed/replaced skylights. Next he'll be working on our other bathroom. He does great work, emphasizing doing things right the first time and not cutting corners. This really has added to the quality of the final result.

Our kitchen project included new hardwood floors, custom cabinets and counters, new appliances, new electrical and some plumbing. Joe was able to get the whole thing done from demolition to completion in a month once the cabinets were built. He was on site nearly every day, keeping the schedule moving forward. He came across a few unexpected things once the floors and walls were opened up, but he recommended ways to deal with them right away, and the project kept moving.

Joe also added a lot of value to the project by recommending some of the finishes and finding some of the fixtures we'd chosen when our suppliers didn't come through.

Joe stays in constant contact throughout a project, and I don't recall him ever not showing up when he said he would. What's more, he and the subcontractors he works with are considerate and always respectful. Very professional. It really makes the remodeling process much more pleasant. He gets a big thumbs-up.
