Empire Mine State Historic Park is an 853-acre state historic park located in Grass Valley at the site of the old Empire Mine. The park features a visitor center, old mine buildings, the restored gardens and historic home of the former mine owner, eight miles of hiking trails, and the entrance to 367 miles of abandoned and flooded mine shafts. Recreational activities available at the park include hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
