Marilynn O'Hare (? – 2000) was Mother of the Year for Oakland in 1993. She was honored because of her 40 years of volunteering at Children's Fairyland. She ran an art contest for children up to the age of 12 every Saturday for almost 4 decades. She was also the muralist for the theme park.
Marilynn was married to Lawrence O'Hare, was the mother of five children, all born and raised in Oakland/Berkeley. As a painter, she created hundreds of painting of children from infants to 7 years of age. Her painting may be found on her Facebook page: Marilynn O'Hare
She is honored at Children's Fairyland, in Who's Who of American Women (1997-1998), and in Who's Who of American Artists (1997-1998).
She had great wit, told wonderful stories and loved to laugh.
She died in 2000.
