Rosa Parks House is a supported independent living home at 521 West Grand, run by Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS). It opened at that location in 1999, after renovating the former Thompson Apartments.

It was initially transitional housing for homeless people with AIDS. They had attempted to open in other locations in Oakland but were rejected. The apartments had been abandoned for at least 8 months and were in need of repairs before BOSS could move in. 1
