In 1887 the Seventh-Day Adventist Church was located on the corner of Twelfth and Brush Streets, Oakland. Elder E. J. Waggoner was the pastor, and he lived at 1465 Castro Street. Services were held on the Sabbath (Saturday) at 11:00 a.m., and Sabbath school was at 9:30 a. m.
