Tiny store with narrow aisles. Wheelchair accessible. Sometimes crowded. All groceries are on one floor. Community room upstairs. |
The People's Food Co-op is a vegetarian grocery store that is owned by its members. It has a fantastic bulk section, a focus on local, organic, etc., and its workers really know and care about both the products and the community. The store may be small, but it's one of the best in town.
There is sometimes (always?) a waitlist to volunteer as a working owner. Volunteers get a discount on their groceries. All owners get access to free events, like yoga and tai chi.
