Champ T. Stuart Sr. was born in 1810 and died in 1884.  He is buried in the Powhatan cemetery.

Facts

In 1844, Stuart belonged to the Whig Party.1

In 1859, Stuart advertised himself as a "receiving and forwarding merchant" on the bank of Black River, selling dry goods, groceries, hardware, and other goods.2

Champ Stuart was involved in local politics and operated a dry goods store.
