URBAN GORILLA BICYCLE RIDE

This great ride has been designed to show that our network of parks and trails can get people commuting safely around town.  It includes the Fern Trail, past Cross Creek, into Tom Brown Park.  Then, on to Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, which hooks up with the J. R. Alford Arm Park/Greenway.  From there to the Miccosukee Greenway, then the Goose Pond trail, to Market Square.  Phipps Park, along with Maclay Gardens.  The Silk and Cambodia Trails at Lake Overstreet, and the Red Bud at Forest Meadows were included.  The Live Oak Plantation Loop  was enjoyed.  This annual ride proves that it is possible to ride 50 - 60 miles through "Trailahassee", starting from your driveway and without leaving the city limits.

For more information check the Capital City Cyclists website.  It also has a calendar with dozens of group rides available.  Check out there April, Tour of Scenic Rural Vistas, and the fall Spaghetti 100.
