Toronto Public Library Board and Heritage Toronto invites you to the opening of the beautifully renovated and expanded Bloor/Gladstone Branch (1101 Bloor Street West) - one of Toronto's treasured historical buildings.

New Stuff

The new wing on the west side of the original building brings 9,000 square feet of new space to the library. 19 new trees have also been added around the library grounds.

  • A much larger library: The new glass addition will add over 9,000 square feet, featuring a two storey curtain wall providing a striking street presence and view into the library.
  • A library that is easier to use: Complete barrier-free accessibility to the building, a family washroom and public washrooms on both levels and express check-out.
  • A new Le@rning Centre, 32 computers throughout the branch (an 88% increase), wireless internet access.
  • More to enjoy: Bigger collections - thousands of new books, CDs, magazines and DVDs.
  • Your home away from home: Reading lounges for adults and children and a funky vibrant teen zone; bookable meeting and quiet study room as well as three group study rooms.
  • A greener building: A new environmentally friendly green roof on the addition and extensive expanded outdoor landscaping with the addition of 20 newly planted trees.
