Election and Referendum Day in Ontario is October 10, 2007.

Sept. 10: Election Writ was issued, officially beginning 30-day campaign. Registered candidates may begin receiving contributions and incurring election expenses.

Sept. 18: 2 p.m. deadline for candidates to submit nomination papers to run in the election.

Sept. 22 to Oct. 4: Returning Office Advance Polls, 9 a.m to 9 p.m.

Sept. 25 to Oct. 4: Area Advance Polls, 12 p.m to 8 p.m.

Sept. 25 to Oct. 4: Area Advance Polls in Satellite Offices, 12 p.m to 8 p.m.

Oct. 9: Applications to vote by proxy must be received by the electoral district Returning Officer or revision assistant by 8 p.m.

Oct. 9 and 10: Advertising "blackout days" - no political advertising allowed.

Wednesday, Oct. 10: Election and Referendum Day. Polls will be open from 9 a.m to 9 p.m.
