The E. C. Sessions map of Oakland was used by realtor E. C. Sessions to sell land in Oakland and what was then the town of Brooklyn. The map was printed by G. T. Brown & Co. of San Francisco.

The original Calisphere source guesses it was from about 1869. An article in the Daily Alta California 1 suggests it may have been as late as 1875, or that various updates of the map were published. A version of it appears in the 1872 directory.
