Pandora, "the Ask.com of Uptown," is a company that makes the site pandora.com which lets you create personally customized radio stations with recommendations that they give to you based on your musical preferences. They were founded in Oakland in 2001 and their office is based in Uptown at 2101 Webster St..
As of fall, 2013, they seem to have gotten naming rights to their building. I think this was fairly unexpected for folks as there have been people taking pictures of the new sign with their phones and whatnot.
Pandora Media Inc. was the recipient of the East Bay Express Best Company to Work For Readers' Poll Award in 2014.
