Most are California native Coast Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens), but there are a few Dawn Redwoods (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) in locations like Mountain View Cemetery. Dawn Redwoods are native to China, and are a deciduous conifer that lose their needles on a seasonal basis.
